What is Mobile Notary?
Pennsylvania Secretary of State appoints a Notary Public, a licensed, bonded, and insured official, to perform oaths, verify signatures, and identify prospective signers. As neutral witness, it is also our responsibility to assess a person’s willingness and ability to comprehend the document being signed. A “mobile notary” or a “traveling notary” is someone who travels to their clients and performs a notarization on the spot. We are available to serve you at your home, office, hospital, coffee shop, restaurant, nursing home, hospital, airport, government facility, and other locations.
What types of documents can be Notarized?
The types of documents we might encounter every day are actually limitless because we notarize signatures on documents, not necessarily the document itself which is a common misunderstanding. It doesn’t matter if the document is handwritten or typed, or has mistakes, or what font, space, layout, or language the documents were written in, or anything else. Provided that there is a spot for you to sign, a signature can be notarized. The State of Pennsylvania notifies us that there are no blank spaces on the documents in question before the Notarization (except the signature line), which is one of the few document-related conditions. That being said, all initials, titles, dates, and other details should be finalized before the notarization.
We’ve listed some of the frequently seen documents on a regular basis for your convenience. This list is not complete and it does not include every type of document that could be notarized. Should you have any inquiries about this list or your specific type of document, please feel free to contact us.

What forms of identification do you accept?
A Notary Public is required to authenticate the identity of the signer on a given document, according to the Pennsylvania Secretary of State when completing an Acknowledgement or Jurat. If signers identity is submitted with “satisfactory evidence” to the Notary Public, identity is established. “Satisfactory evidence” refers to the lack of any evidence, information, or other circumstances that would lead a rational person to assume that person is not who he or she claims to be.
Pennsylvania law requires Notary to use a current, government-issued identification card with a photograph, signature, or physical description and a serial or identification number to identify a signer’s identity. (57 PS Sec. 12.1)
While the law allows a wide range of government-issued documents to be used as identity, the safest IDs have all four parts above: a photograph, signature, physical description, and serial or identifying number. The following are examples of acceptable identification documents
Pennsylvania driver’s license or non-driver’s ID.
Driver’s license or identification card from another U.S. State.
A U.S. Passport
Foreign passport stamped for entry into the U.S. by the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
U.S. Military Card
ID card issued by U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service.
An inmate identification card issued by the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Prisons, for an inmate who is in the custody of the department.
A sworn written statement from a sworn law enforcement officer that the forms of identification for an inmate in an institution of confinement were confiscated upon confinement and that the person named in the document is the person whose signature is to be notarized.
A sworn written statement of two credible witnesses whose identities are proven to the notary public upon the presentation of satisfactory evidence.

We can assist you with every step of the process, from scanning, printing, and faxing to shipping and courier services. We are simple to work with, meticulous to details, and licensed with a lot of expertise. We’ve handled thousands of closings over the past years and would want to put our experience to work for you. Should you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the procedure, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Can you pre-sign the documents before meeting with us?
It would be yes or no, it all depends on the type of notarization needed. In Pennsylvania, we normally perform two types of notarizations. The first is an Acknowledgement, whereas the second is a Jurat. The Acknowledgement is used to confirm the identification of a person’s signature on a document as well as to certify that the individual personally appeared before the Notary. On the other hand, Jurat certifies that the person’s identification is legitimate and that they appeared in front of the Notary, and also made a sworn statement (provided by the Notary) in person with regard to the statement in question/document. There is a little difference between the two types of Notarization; the Jurat needs physical attendance at the moment of signing since an affirmation is given before signing. Although Acknowledgement requires physical attendance, it does not necessitate the presence of the Notary to verify that the signatory has signed the document in person.
You might be asking if this means that if you can see my ID, you can conduct the notarizations remotely. Unfortunately, no because both types of notarization include physical appearance as well as signing/thumbprinting of the public record/notary journal. It’s a prerequisite in Pennsylvania to appear in person.
